ABOUT - Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) focuses on clarifying values (the things that are most important to us) and helping us learn to be present so we can act in line with those priorities. It also fosters skills to get unstuck when prioritizing what matters to us becomes difficult.
Dr. Wilson teaches an integrated ACT model. The traditional ACT skills and concepts are seamlessly integrated with resilience/ Positive Psychiatry principles and the research about what we need to be well.
It is also integrated with research about emotion focused processes informed by Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy and Attachment models.
The ideas presented are made simple, clear and accessible through use of Dr. Wilson’s training in adult learning principles. They are paired with her playful spirit and her experiential exercises make all of her Integrated ACT Workshops practical and fun!
